Rep. Mike Flood, U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 1st district, posted a series of updates on September 9, 2025, highlighting his recent activities and priorities in healthcare, housing policy, and financial technology.

Later the same day, Flood addressed regulatory issues facing the housing sector as Chair of the Housing & Insurance Subcommittee. Flood has served in Congress since 2022 after replacing Jeff Fortenberry. Before joining Congress, he was a member of the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975 and currently residing in Norfolk, Flood earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and a law degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
