Rep. Mike Flood, U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 1st district, posted a series of updates on September 9, 2025, highlighting his recent activities and priorities in healthcare, housing policy, and financial technology.

In one post on September 9, Flood described a visit to Nebraska Wesleyan University: "Visited @NEWesleyan to learn more about their nursing and healthcare programs. Nebraska is a leader in quality care and medical innovation thanks to the help of Nebraska Wesleyan and other institutions that have helped build our reputation!"

Later the same day, Flood addressed regulatory issues facing the housing sector as Chair of the Housing & Insurance Subcommittee. He wrote: "As Chair of the Housing & Insurance Subcommittee, I'm taking on the Four Horsemen of the Housing Apocalypse: Environmental Review Requirements Costly Material Mandates Onerous Prevailing Wage Rules Burdensome Labor Requirements It's simple: Let our builders build " The post outlines his focus on reducing barriers for builders.

Flood has served in Congress since 2022 after replacing Jeff Fortenberry. Before joining Congress, he was a member of the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975 and currently residing in Norfolk, Flood earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and a law degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
