Rep. Mike Flood, who represents Nebraska’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on his visits and meetings with local organizations in a series of social media posts.

On September 3, 2025, Flood posted about his visit to a local senior center: "It was great to stop by the Utica Senior Center and visit - thanks for the warm hospitality and engaging conversation!"

Later that day, he met with healthcare leaders to discuss priorities for Nebraska's medical system. In his post dated September 3, 2025, Flood wrote: "Met with Memorial Health Care Systems leadership to discuss their priorities and the future of healthcare in Nebraska. Thanks to Nebraska's new State Directed Payment program the state is set to receive $700 million in new Medicaid funding!"

The following day, Flood congratulated several Nebraska medical centers for earning high ratings. On September 4, 2025, he stated: "Congratulations to the Omaha VA Medical Center, CHI Health Lakeside (Omaha), and Bellevue Medical Center on their five star rating from @BeckersHR - keep up the great work!"

Flood has served as a U.S. Representative since 2022 after succeeding Jeff Fortenberry. He previously held office in the Nebraska State Legislature between 2007 and 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975, Flood currently resides in Norfolk. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and a law degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
