Rep. Mike Flood, who represents Nebraska’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of posts on social media over the Labor Day weekend and into early September, highlighting community celebrations, educational milestones, and concerns about home insurance in Nebraska.
On September 1, 2025, Flood extended holiday greetings to his constituents: "Whether you're spending time with family or friends, best wishes on a fun and safe #LaborDayWeekend as we celebrate the people who work to build and grow the Good Life every day!"
Later that day, he reflected on an educational achievement in Norfolk: '"The idea to build a campus for the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Norfolk was first proposed in 2006 by then-state Sen. Mike Flood." Congratulations to @unmc on 15 years in Norfolk!'

Flood has served as a U.S. Congressman since 2022 after replacing Jeff Fortenberry. He previously held office in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975 and currently residing in Norfolk, Flood holds degrees from both the University of Notre Dame (BA) and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (JD).
