Rep. Mike Flood discusses federal spending cuts and policy at legislative summit

Rep. Mike Flood, U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 1st district since 2022, recently shared updates on federal policy and legislative actions through a series of posts on his social media account.

On August 7, 2025, Flood commented on a recent event: "Had a great conversation on the latest federal policy issues at the annual Federal Legislative Summit hosted by @NebraskaChamber, @OmahaChamber, @LincolnChamber - thanks to everyone who joined!"

The following day, August 8, he highlighted fiscal measures taken by House Republicans: "WATCH: @HouseGOP cut $2 trillion in federal spending and delivered historic tax relief to grow our economy. Joined @kaitlancollins to talk about this, redistricting, and more " In another post from the same day, Flood discussed healthcare policy: "Hardworking American do not support free healthcare for able-bodied citizens who can work but refuse to. Flood began serving in Congress after replacing Jeff Fortenberry in 2022. He previously served in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975 and currently residing in Norfolk, Flood holds degrees from the University of Notre Dame and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
