Rep. Mike Flood, who represents Nebraska’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted bipartisan legislative achievements and recognition for his work on housing issues through a series of posts on social media.

On July 17, 2025, Flood announced the House passage of new digital asset legislation, stating, "Today, the House took a historic, bipartisan step by passing the CLARITY Act. Now the Senate must pass this commonsense bill and send it to President @realDonaldTrump’s desk. More on how CLARITY will help launch the golden age of digital assets from today’s @BloombergTV chat https://t.co/rpI1QiOCWo".

Later that day, he noted further progress on financial regulation reform: "Thanks to a bipartisan, bicameral effort, the GENIUS Act will soon become law once President @realDonaldTrump signs it. By providing clear guidelines for regulators and consumers, the GENIUS Act will help keep America the world’s leading financial innovator https://t.co/piFn2SGREY".

On July 18, 2025, Flood turned attention to housing policy and acknowledged an award received for his efforts: "Housing is one issue with real bipartisan support for pro-market, pro-growth solutions. Thank you to @BPC_Bipartisan for presenting me with the Terwilliger Award in recognition of my consensus-driven work to address America’s housing crisis! https://t.co/B059NDrs9X".

Flood has represented Nebraska's 1st District in Congress since 2022 after succeeding Jeff Fortenberry. Before his current role in Congress, he served in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975 and now residing in Norfolk at age 48, Flood holds degrees from both the University of Notre Dame (BA) and University of Nebraska-Lincoln (JD).
