On July 7, 2025, Rep. Mike Flood highlighted H.R. 1, which he referred to as "The One Big, Beautiful Bill." He stated that this bill aims to halt taxpayer funding for abortion providers. According to him, "No taxpayer money should be used by any organization that provides abortions," and H.R. 1 ensures that federal funds are not utilized for such purposes.

The following day, on July 8, Flood expressed his support for President Trump and his administration's efforts to reduce government size while maintaining essential services. In a tweet, he wrote: "I applaud President Trump and his team for their work to reduce the size and scope of the federal government while delivering key services that protect our communities and families!" Additionally, on July 8, Flood praised an executive order by President Trump focused on reducing inefficiencies within federal agencies while prioritizing roles related to public safety.
