On Thursday, Feb. 27, former Lincoln East High School standouts Carter Mick and Mason Gaines’ current college team, the Omaha Mavericks, lost 12-8 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Kansas Jayhawks.

The game took place at Hoglund Ballpark. This was their first matchup against the Jayhawks this season.

The Mavericks’ next game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. at Hoglund Ballpark against Kansas Jayhawks.
