U.S. Congressman Mike Flood has released a statement in anticipation of Presidents' Day, which will be observed on Monday, February 17th. In his statement, Congressman Flood highlighted the significance of the day as a time to honor two prominent figures in American history: Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan.
Flood stated, "For Americans, Presidents’ Day is a celebration of our greatest statesmen: Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan. These two men led America through conflicts that marked some of the most difficult chapters in American history." He acknowledged President Lincoln's leadership during the Civil War and his role in ending slavery. Similarly, he recognized President Reagan's efforts against communism during the Cold War.
The congressman emphasized that as America looks forward, it continues to find inspiration and guidance from the leadership and character demonstrated by these former presidents.
