Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood released a statement regarding the recent approval of the "American Relief Act." This legislation provides funding for the federal government until early next year.
Flood expressed his satisfaction with the vote, stating, "Today’s vote to keep Washington working for the people is a win for Nebraska’s hardworking families, farmers, and communities. This measure includes critical ag programs and ensures that active-duty military service members get paid through the holidays."
Despite his support for the act, Flood noted a disappointment: "While I’m disappointed year-round E15 was not included in the final measure, I’ll keep fighting for it as we enter the next Congress."
Flood also acknowledged the efforts of House Republican leadership: "I commend our House Republican leadership for their tireless efforts to unite Members and keep our government running, despite the political games of Congressional Democrats and President Biden."
He concluded by urging swift action from the Senate: "I urge the Senate to act quickly to ensure our government continues serving the American people through the holiday season."
