U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement today in response to news of Iran launching a significant attack on Israel. The congressman from Lincoln, Nebraska, emphasized the importance of America's friendship with Israel during this period.
"Almost one year after the horrific attacks by Hamas, Iran has launched a new, abhorrent assault on Israel," said Flood. He highlighted the ongoing necessity for support as Israel defends its people and sovereignty.
Flood attributed part of the blame for the current situation to what he described as weakness projected by the Biden-Harris administration. "This didn’t have to happen. The weakness projected by the Biden-Harris administration contributed to this moment," he stated.
The congressman criticized recent U.S. policy towards Iran, noting financial aid given in recent years and referencing past decisions made under previous administrations. "This administration handed billions of dollars to Iran in the last couple of years, repeating the mistake made by the terrible Iran deal cut by the Obama-Biden administration."
Flood concluded his statement with a reaffirmation of America's commitment to supporting Israel against various threats. "America will continue to do whatever we need to support Israel in their fight against Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran."
