WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Mike Flood has recently partnered with Congressman Brad Finstad (R-MN) and a group of House Republicans to co-sponsor the EPA Accountability to Farm Country Act.
"Time and again, the Biden administration has used the regulatory power of federal agencies to impose new red tape on America’s ag producers. American farmers know better than any government agency what it takes to grow the food they need to successfully feed the world. It’s time for our hardworking farmers and ranchers to get a voice in the rulemaking process," expressed Rep. Flood.
Acknowledging the collaborative effort, Rep. Flood extended his gratitude by stating, “Thanks to Rep. Finstad and my Republicans colleagues for stepping up to deliver the EPA Accountability to Farm Country Act, and I urge the House to take it up quickly.”
The proposed EPA Accountability to Farm Country Act aims to involve the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and farmer stakeholders in reviewing rules and regulations put forth by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that could impact the agricultural sector. The act mandates that recommendations be provided on how to minimize these impacts, and if the EPA fails to address the concerns raised, the proposed rule would not be finalized.
Congressman Flood, a member of the Western Caucus advocating for rural policy issues in Washington, D.C., stands in support of the bill.

This move signifies a bipartisan effort to provide a platform for farmers and ranchers to have a say in the regulatory decisions that directly affect their livelihoods.
