WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Mike Flood has criticized President Joe Biden's $7.3 trillion budget plan, stating that it includes excessive spending that surpasses inflation and wage growth for 2023. Congressman Flood expressed his concerns, saying, "At a time when he should be reigning in federal spending, President Biden’s new budget request includes almost 10% more in spending than last year’s."
Flood further questioned the reasons behind the high expenses, attributing them to favors towards liberal special interest groups, such as Green New Deal activists. He highlighted, "Why is it so expensive? It’s chock full of gifts to liberal special interest groups, including Green New Deal activists."
Additionally, Flood emphasized the efforts of House Republicans in maintaining fiscal responsibility, mentioning, "House Republicans negotiated a deal last year that holds the line on spending, and we’ll keep fighting to stop President Biden’s plans to overspend again this year."
