Rep. Mike Flood, U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 1st district since 2022, recently addressed key national issues in a series of posts on his social media account. The topics ranged from U.S.-China trade relations to the ongoing government shutdown.
On November 5, 2025, Flood commented on agricultural trade dynamics with China, stating, "The last several years have revealed that China will certainly buy U.S. soybeans when they need them, but also that China is willing to use soybeans as leverage in the ongoing trade war." He directed readers to his full op-ed published at Agri-Pulse.
Later that day, Flood informed followers about an upcoming television appearance: " Getting ready to go live on @BloombergTV - you can watch live here:" and provided a link for viewers.
On November 6, 2025, Flood addressed the federal government shutdown in another post: "It's for the Democrat shutdown to end. The political posturing by Democrats to appease the far Left is starting to impact people's travel plans. It's time to reopen the government and stop the politics. More in my conversation with @BloombergTV "
