Rep. Adrian Smith, who represents Nebraska’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed several legislative and policy issues in a series of posts on his official social media account. The tweets, published between October 20 and October 22, 2025, focus on government shutdown impacts, rural health programs, and international economic relations.

On October 20, Smith wrote, "Through the Working Families Tax Cuts @HouseGOP made significant progress rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse. The following day, Smith commented on congressional actions related to the ongoing shutdown: "Congressional Democrats continue to cast votes in favor of extending the government shutdown, putting key programs at risk. On October 22, Smith turned his attention to international economic issues, stating, "Targeting U.S. digital companies stands to harm U.S. innovators and South Korean consumers, especially as regional tensions call for strengthened supply chains and economic ties with our East Asian allies. Adrian Smith has served in Congress since 2007 after replacing Tom Osborne and previously served in the Nebraska Legislature from 1999 to 2007. Born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska in 1970, Smith currently resides in Gering and holds a BA from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
