Rep. Adrian Smith, who represents Nebraska’s 3rd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on social media addressing recent events and public service information between October 14 and 15, 2025.
On October 14, Smith paid tribute to a fellow public servant, stating, "Senator Hansen was a friend and example to so many in Lincoln County and around the state. His genuine expertise made him a respected leader as a cattle producer and public servant. My condolences go out to the Hansen family with fond memories of Tom's positive nature,".
Later that day, Smith commented on recent national and international developments, writing, "Improvements to U.S. border security and the Gaza peace deal signed yesterday thanks to President Trump’s diplomatic efforts, demonstrate the value of strong leadership. Read my latest column on this administration’s work to uphold the rule of law in our country and promote".
On October 15, Smith informed constituents about the start of Medicare Open Enrollment, posting, "Medicare Open Enrollment begins today. To learn more about resources to pick the right plan you can contact my office, call the NE State Health Insurance Assistance Program at 1-800-234-7119, or visit the Medicare website to begin shopping for a plan."
Smith has served in Congress since 2007, succeeding Tom Osborne, and previously held office in the Nebraska Legislature from 1999 to 2007. Born in Scottsbluff in 1970 and currently residing in Gering, Smith is an alumnus of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1993.
