Rep. Adrian Smith, U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 3rd district since 2007, recently posted a series of updates on his social media account addressing manufacturing achievements in Nebraska, developments in the Gaza conflict, and ongoing government funding negotiations.

On October 8, 2025, Smith highlighted a local achievement in Nebraska’s manufacturing sector, stating, "Congratulations to @Case_IH AF Series combines, crowned the Coolest Thing Made in Nebraska for 2025! The Grand Island @CNHIndustrial facility producing these state-of-the-art harvesters is a testament to the community and #NE03 leadership in manufacturing and agriculture."

Turning to international affairs on October 9, 2025, Smith commented on a development in the Gaza conflict: "Announcement of a deal for the release of hostages still held by Hamas is a breakthrough for the conflict in Gaza. Thanks to President Trump's efforts to broker their freedom, this is a profound step toward greater security for our ally Israel and the region."

Later that day, Smith addressed domestic legislative matters regarding government funding. He wrote, "For more than a week now Leader Schumer and congressional Democrats have opposed government funding at levels they previously supported 13 times. This shutdown was not only avoidable, it is needless."

Smith has served as Nebraska’s 3rd district representative since 2007 after replacing Tom Osborne. Prior to his tenure in Congress, he was a member of the Nebraska Legislature from 1999 to 2007. Born in Scottsbluff in 1970 and currently residing in Gering, Smith graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln with a BA in 1993.
