Rep. Mike Flood, who represents Nebraska’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of tweets addressing local housing initiatives and ongoing federal government negotiations.
On October 6, 2025, Flood highlighted efforts to tackle housing shortages in his state: "How one community is addressing a housing shortage - a bold, innovative approach. Read about Tilden's work in @NorfolkNews https://t.co/f9Ml1R2roe".
Later that day, Flood commented on the status of federal government operations: "Democrats shut down the government as they work to provide healthcare to people who came to America illegally. Don't take my word for it - here's what their own proposal says https://t.co/XeYVWMEkvH".
He continued his criticism regarding the government shutdown with another post: "The Democrat shutdown drags on. Democrats are using federal workers as pawns in their chess game as they work to appease their radical leftwing base. More from my conversation with @CNN https://t.co/wQc88QeRBX".
Flood has served in Congress since 2022 after replacing Jeff Fortenberry and previously held office in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. He was born in Omaha in 1975 and resides in Norfolk. Flood holds degrees from the University of Notre Dame and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
