Rep. Adrian Smith, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 3rd district since 2007, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing recent events and commemorations.
On September 10, 2025, Smith shared a message regarding the passing of Charlie Kirk: "My statement on the death of Charlie Kirk."
The following day, marking the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Smith wrote: "We will forever honor and remember the courage and sacrifice of those who lost their lives 24 years ago on Sept. 11, 2001." This post was made on September 11, 2025.
Later that same day, Smith commented on legislative developments in Congress: "House passage of the FY26 NDAA is a win for national security and deterrence of our adversaries. In the words of Ronald Reagan, 'War will not come again...if we will speak honestly of the dangers that confront us and remain strong enough to meet those dangers.’"
Smith has represented Nebraska’s expansive rural district since replacing Tom Osborne in Congress in 2007. Prior to his tenure in Washington, he served in the Nebraska Legislature from 1999 to 2007. Born in Scottsbluff in 1970 and currently residing in Gering, Smith graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln with a BA in 1993.
