Rep. Mike Flood, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 1st district since 2022, posted a series of tweets on September 11, 2025, addressing the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, youth engagement in public debate, and an upcoming fintech conference.

In his first tweet on the morning of September 11, Flood wrote: "On #PatriotDay, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost in the horrific terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The resilience, vigilance, and unity in the wake of these attacks showed the world the strength and determination of the American people. #NeverForget https://t.co/CKjwCFTsOm" (posted at 14:05 UTC).

Later that day, Flood commented on youth activism and open debate: "Charlie Kirk inspired our nation’s youth by championing open debate among people who disagree. My thoughts on Charlie’s impact this morning with @MorningsMaria on @FoxBusiness https://t.co/3eSLA1KL9M" (posted at 15:09 UTC).

Shortly after, he promoted an event focused on financial technology: " Only 5 DAYS left to register for this year's Flyover Fintech conference! Meet with and hear from some of the biggest innovators in all things #fintech right here in Lincoln. Don't delay - register TODAY via the QR code below or here https://t.co/adbGnQ6WoF https://t.co/QGpzX9fUbP" (posted at 15:09 UTC).

Flood has served as a member of Congress since replacing Jeff Fortenberry in Nebraska's 1st district following a special election in 2022. He previously served in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975 and currently residing in Norfolk, Flood holds degrees from both the University of Notre Dame and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
