U.S. Congressman Mike Flood (R-Nebraska) released a statement following the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was shot at an event in Utah.

“From the White House to college campuses, Charlie Kirk used his platform to talk about conservative principles, share his faith in Jesus, and to connect the next generation of Americans to the Republican Party. Mandi and I are praying for his wife and kids and urge all Americans to work towards bringing peace to our divided country. We must bring an end to the political violence that seems to be growing in our country,” Flood said.

Flood has represented Nebraska’s 1st district in Congress since 2022 after replacing Jeff Fortenberry. He previously served in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975, Flood is currently 48 years old and lives in Norfolk. He holds a BA from the University of Notre Dame and a JD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
