Rep. Mike Flood, who represents Nebraska’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of updates on his social media account addressing national policy, an upcoming conference, and concerns about political violence.

On September 10, 2025, Flood highlighted a recent discussion with Fox News reporter Liz Elkind regarding potential executive action by former President Donald Trump: "NEW: 'Trump's rumored housing emergency would be a 'game-changer,' key GOP lawmaker says' @liz_elkind at @FoxNews and I visited about what a housing emergency from President @realDonaldTrump could mean. In another post on September 10, Flood expressed concern for conservative activist Charlie Kirk following reports of an emergency situation: "Praying for Charlie Kirk and for wisdom for the doctors providing emergency care. Political violence is always wrong - may God bring peace to our country."

Flood has served in Congress since 2022 after replacing Jeff Fortenberry and previously held office in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. He was born in Omaha in 1975 and currently resides in Norfolk. Flood earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and holds a law degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
