U.S. Congressman Mike Flood announced that his office has recovered more than $1 million in federal casework for constituents in Nebraska’s First Congressional District through July of this year. According to Flood, the office has resolved over 140 cases with a reported 98% satisfaction rate regarding responsiveness.

“Through the month of July, I’m pleased to share that my team and I have returned $1million and counting to constituents across our First District,” said Congressman Flood. “We’ve also resolved over 140 cases, with a 98% satisfaction rate regarding our office’s responsiveness. Whether you’re facing a tight deadline for a passport or need help accessing the benefits you’ve earned, never hesitate to reach out to my office. If you have an issue that needs to be addressed, I encourage you to visit or call my district office in Lincoln or attend one of the many mobile office hours held across our First District.”

Flood's office shared several examples of constituent support provided this year. In one case, a widow from Sarpy County received her late husband’s final Social Security check two weeks after contacting Flood’s staff following three months of delays. Another example involved a Platte County mother who was given incorrect information about her child’s passport renewal; intervention by the congressman’s staff ensured timely processing before an international trip. Additionally, the office assisted a veteran from Platte County by securing documentation from the VA confirming long-term Medicare Part D enrollment, helping resolve issues with his health insurance provider.

Mike Flood currently serves as U.S. Representative for Nebraska's 1st district and replaced Jeff Fortenberry in Congress in 2022 (https://flood.house.gov/about). Before serving in Congress, he was part of the Nebraska State Legislature between 2007 and 2013 (https://flood.house.gov/about). Born in Omaha in 1975, Flood resides in Norfolk and holds degrees from both the University of Notre Dame and University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

For more information on how Congressman Flood’s office can assist with federal agencies, constituents are encouraged to contact his Lincoln district office or attend local mobile office hours.
