Rep. Mike Flood, U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 1st district since 2022, shared updates on recent developments in Nebraska and responded to a tragedy in Minnesota through his official Twitter account.
On August 26, 2025, Flood highlighted Nebraska's growing reputation as a center for financial technology innovation, writing: "Last year, Flyover Fintech brought national leaders and innovators to Lincoln- such as @PatrickMcHenry, @Fidelity, @Grayscale, and more. The following day, on August 27, Flood announced new federal support for veterans in the state: "NEW: The @DeptVetAffairs awarded $3.5 million to @ActionNebraska to bolster their services to veterans & their families who are homeless or at risk. This funding helps expand housing assistance, childcare, & other big wins for our state's veterans https://t.co/kBwtDuzwr4".
Later that same day, Flood addressed a tragic event at a school in Minnesota: "Mandi and I are praying for the victims, their families, and everyone at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minnesota after news of this devastating tragedy.

Flood has represented Nebraska’s 1st District since replacing Jeff Fortenberry in 2022. Before joining Congress, he served in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975 and currently residing in Norfolk, Flood holds degrees from the University of Notre Dame (BA) and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (JD).
