Rep. Mike Flood, who represents Nebraska’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted his legislative priorities and local engagements through a series of posts on social media.
On August 11, 2025, Flood outlined upcoming goals for the House GOP as Congress prepares to reconvene after recess. He stated, "When Congress returns from recess, @HouseGOP will deliver even more commonsense conservative wins:

Addressing the ongoing national housing challenges two days later, Flood posted about efforts to alleviate the crisis at the community level. On August 13, he wrote, "Our country is facing a housing crisis.
Organizations like @neighborworksNE in Lincoln are leading the way in building housing to address this problem.

That same day, Flood shared an update following a meeting with Louisville Mayor Rod Petersen. In his post dated August 13, he said, "Caught up with @louisvillene Mayor Rod Petersen recently.

Flood has served as Nebraska’s 1st district representative since 2022 after replacing Jeff Fortenberry. Before joining Congress, he served in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975 and currently residing in Norfolk at age 48, Flood holds degrees from both the University of Notre Dame (BA) and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (JD).
