Rep. Mike Flood, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 1st district, recently shared updates on his engagements with local communities and industries through a series of tweets. Flood, who replaced Jeff Fortenberry in 2022, has been active in promoting local businesses and initiatives within his district.

On June 13, 2025, Rep. Mike Flood tweeted about his recent conversation with team members from Nucor Steel in Norfolk. He emphasized the importance of American-made steel by stating that it "strengthens our communities and families, prevents dependency on foreign manufacturing, and helps us ensure that future generations continue to enjoy the American dream." "Keep up the great work!"

Later that day, Flood mentioned his meeting with Milford Mayor Patrick Kelley and the team at Lincoln West KOA Kampgrounds. Expressing optimism for Milford's growth, he stated: "I'm excited to see where Milford goes as it continues to grow and to support the great work you're doing!"

Additionally, Rep. Flood highlighted his participation in an event with Norfolk Crush ahead of their new facility grand opening. He noted this development as a significant contribution to Northeast Nebraska's involvement in the biodiesel industry: "Nebraska is a growing part of the biodiesel industry thanks to operations like this one! #biofuels"

Mike Flood was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1975 and currently resides in Norfolk. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in 1997 and earned a JD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2001.
