Rep. Mike Flood, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 1st district, recently shared several updates on his social media platform. Flood, who succeeded Jeff Fortenberry in 2022 and previously served in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013, is known for engaging with his constituents through various channels.

On May 9, 2025, Rep. Mike Flood expressed gratitude towards students at North Platte Senior High School for inviting him to speak in their Junior Government class. He shared this interaction by stating "Spoke with @NPSSeniorHigh students in their Junior Government class recently - thank you for the invitation!"

Later that day, he acknowledged First National Bank of Omaha's recent accolade as "Overall Housing Champion of the Year," awarded by FHLBank Topeka. In his post, he highlighted the recognition and mentioned his remarks celebrating this achievement: "WATCH: @FNBO, one of Nebraska's preeminent banks, was recently recognized when they were named the 'Overall Housing Champion of the Year' by @FHLBankTopeka."

On May 11, 2025, Rep. Flood reflected on Mother's Day by quoting former President Ronald Reagan’s radio address from May 7, 1983. He tweeted "[Our nation's mothers] shape the America we know today, and are now molding the character of our country tomorrow," commemorating mothers' roles in shaping society.

Mike Flood was born in Omaha in 1975 and currently resides in Norfolk. He holds a BA from the University of Notre Dame and a JD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
