Rep. Mike Flood, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska's 1st district, recently shared his views on regulatory and financial developments via his Twitter account. Flood, who replaced Jeff Fortenberry in 2022, has been an advocate for deregulation and economic growth initiatives during his tenure.

On April 9, 2025, Flood commented on blockchain regulation, stating that under Gary Gensler, the sector faced "rigid regulation" stifling innovation. He indicated that under President Donald Trump, measures are being taken to roll back what he described as President Biden's oppressive regulations. Flood directed followers to his full comments made during a recent Digital Assets Subcommittee hearing here.

Later that day, Flood announced a development from the House GOP, which approved a rule setting up a vote directed towards implementing President Trump's tax cuts. He urged followers to find out more about these financial developments here.

In another post, Flood discussed the Larger Participants Rule, elaborating on its use by the agency to extend examination authority over non-bank consumer payments firms. This reflects ongoing discussions on regulatory practices and the reach of agency policies here.

Mike Flood, born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1975, completed his BA at the University of Notre Dame and his JD at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He previously served in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013 before his congressional career.
