U.S. Congressman Mike Flood has expressed his support for the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, following a vote on H.R. 21 in Washington, D.C. The bill aims to establish federal standards and protections for children born alive during attempted abortions.
Flood stated, "Every human life is a gift. Right now, federal law does not make it clear whether children born, even amid an attempted abortion, have a right to medical care." He emphasized that the act seeks to provide basic protections and defend against practices he describes as infanticide. "This is a commonsense measure that defends against practices that amount to infanticide and ensures that our healthcare system is doing more to respect every human life."
Congressman Flood is among the co-sponsors of this legislation.
