Rep. Mike Flood, a U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 1st district since 2022, has recently addressed forest management and regulatory issues through his social media posts. With a background in law and previous legislative experience in Nebraska, Flood is active in promoting legislative measures and expressing concerns over environmental policies.

On January 23, 2025, Rep. Mike Flood emphasized the importance of reducing risks associated with poor forest management. He expressed support for the Fix Our Forests Act, stating "We must do everything we can to limit the risks of this happening again." He acknowledged his colleagues' backing of this legislation aimed at enhancing forest management efficiency.

In another post on the same day, Rep. Flood discussed the consequences of inadequate forest management practices using California as an example. He stated that "The consequences of poor forest management can be dramatic and unfortunately California serves as a prime example of this." He attributed these challenges to misguided policies influenced by environmental activists' aspirations, which have exacerbated wildfire incidents.

Later that day, Rep. Flood announced the rescission of SAB 121, thanking key figures including @POTUS and commissioners Hester Peirce and Mark Uyeda for their roles in this development. His statement read "RESCINDED: SAB 121 is finally history - Thank you @POTUS, @HesterPeirce, and @MarkUyedaUS!"
