U.S. Congressman Mike Flood released a recorded statement in anticipation of New Year’s Day, January 1, 2025. The video of his remarks is available for news outlets to use in their reporting.
In his address, Congressman Flood reflected on the achievements of 2024. He emphasized the efforts made by House Republicans to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and maintain government operations. "Thanks to Speaker Johnson and our leadership team, we’ve successfully navigated tough political issues with a narrow majority," he stated.
Flood highlighted significant political developments from November, noting that Republicans maintained their majority in the House while President Donald Trump returned to office and the Senate was reclaimed by Republicans. This shift creates what he described as a "conservative trifecta" aimed at serving the American people in the coming year.
He also acknowledged Nebraska's federal delegation's return next year and mentioned that his office had assisted constituents with federal agency casework and secured $48 million for projects within Nebraska’s First District.
Expressing gratitude for representing Nebraska's First District, Flood said, "From Lincoln to Norfolk and Columbus to Bellevue and everywhere in between, I continue to advocate for you and the communities we all love."
The congressman concluded with well-wishes for a safe and happy New Year from himself and his family: "On behalf of my wife, Mandi, my sons, and myself: Have a safe and happy New Year! I look forward to what 2025 holds."
Flood closed with a blessing: "May God bless you and may God bless the United States of America."
