U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement today in response to the announcement that President Joe Biden and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) plan to provide legal protections for half a million individuals who entered the United States illegally.
"Over and over again, President Biden’s rhetoric and policies have sent a message to people around the world that they can come to America without following the rules. His words and his actions have created a humanitarian crisis on our border of historic proportions," Flood stated. "This week’s decision to grant amnesty to half a million people who entered our country illegally further undermines respect for America’s laws and will only make things worse."
Flood highlighted that the House has already passed the Secure the Border Act, which includes measures such as building a wall and implementing other key policy changes. He urged the Senate to take similar action, stating, "It’s time for the Senate to step up and do the same so that our country can finally put an end to President Biden’s border crisis."
