U.S. Congressman Mike Flood has opened applications for the summer internship program in his Washington, D.C. office. “I’m excited to announce we are now accepting applications for our Washington, D.C. summer internship program,” said Congressman Flood. “This program provides students with a way to get firsthand experience in our nation’s capital and an upfront view of how public policy is shaped.”

Interns will work alongside the office’s full-time congressional staff, gaining experience in various aspects of a congressional office. The internship curriculum aims to provide interns with an understanding of constituent services, communications, operations, legislative, and committee work. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to attend congressional hearings, policy briefings, guest speakers, exhibits, and networking events on Capitol Hill.

The deadline to apply for the summer internship is March 22, 2024, with selected applicants being notified on March 29th. The internship itself will take place from May 28th to August 9th. Priority will be given to students and recent graduates with connections to Nebraska’s first congressional district. Applications for other seasons will be accepted on an ongoing basis.

For more information and to apply, interested individuals can visit the official webpage for the internship program.
