Future Husker Logan Nissley captured her third consecutive North Dakota Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year Award when the honor was announced earlier this week. Nissley, a 6-0 guard out of Century High School in Bismarck, is averaging 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 2.6 assists this season. She is ranked among the top 100 recruits in the nation by ESPN and signed her National Letter of Intent in November of 2022 to play for Coach Amy Williams and Nebraska beginning in 2023-24.

In addition to being a three-time North Dakota basketball state player of the year, Nissley has won back-to-back state volleyball player-of-the-year honors in North Dakota. She helped Century to a Class A state championship game appearance in volleyball as an outside hitter by recording 336 kills and 507 digs to go with 61 service aces, 55 blocks and 17 assists. She finished her career with more than 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs.

Nissley and the Patriots basketball team opened state tournament play on Thursday (March 9) with a 69-64 win over Fargo Davies in the quarterfinals at the Scheels Center at the Sanford Health Athletic Complex in Fargo. Nissley finished with team highs of 20 points and five assists. She added five rebounds and a pair of steals while knocked down four three-pointers.

She helped Bismarck Century advance to the state championship game by scoring 16 on 5-of-8 three-point shooting in a 65-47 win over West Fargo Sheyenne on Friday. Nissley and the Patriots will battle Grand Forks Red River in the state championship game on Saturday at 6 p.m. (CT). Nissley added four rebounds and three steals against the Mustangs.

In addition to Nissley's rare accomplishment, fellow future Husker Natalie Potts, who was the 2021 Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year, recently crossed the 2,000-point mark in her high school career in Missouri. Potts reached the milestone on a second-half three-pointer for Incarnate Word Academy in a Class 6 District 3 championship game win on Tuesday (March 7). Potts has helped Incarnate Word Academy to 97 consecutive wins heading into the Missouri Class 6 State Tournament, which begins Saturday (March 11).
