In 2021, we investigated 337 traffic crashes where a driver was arrested for driving impaired. That’s an average of nearly one crash per day directly related to driving after drinking or using drugs.
Celebrations can turn to mourning when they involve impaired driving. Please celebrate responsibly and have a plan to get to where you’re going without risking arrest, a crash or worse.
As a reminder, starting we will join a nationwide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign to reduce fatal and injury crashes. The extra enforcement, funded by the Nebraska Department of Transportation- Highway Safety Office, will continue through New Year’s Eve.
