The last few months have been BUSY, for FCSO communications. With the new training requirements passing in the State of Nebraska, we have been eager to get the ball rolling.
The State of Nebraska recently passed state baseline training standards for 911 telecommunicators including 40 hr. Core Competency Course, with training officer requirements included. Thanks To APCO and York County the CTO-Communications Training Officer course was made available to us.
Communications Training Officers (CTO) operate very similar to Law Enforcement Field Training Officers (FTO), structured in the same “San Jose Model.”
York County 911 Director, Leila Luft and Lead Communications Officer, Mariá Scamehorn were absolutely amazing!!!!
Brandie Conway and Jami Knerl are only the firsts to bring this much needed entity to our county, with all new ideas and the help of surrounding counties we are excited to revamp some learning styles, and make this the best serving communications center possible.
