U.S. Senator Deb Fischer and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins met with Nebraska’s congressional delegation and agricultural stakeholders at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center (ENREEC) facility on August 9, 2025. The meeting included Representatives Adrian Smith, Don Bacon, and Mike Flood.

The group participated in a roundtable discussion that addressed the importance of expanding market access for farmers and ranchers in Nebraska. They also discussed ongoing efforts by Congress and the Trump administration to address challenges facing agricultural producers both within the state and nationwide.

After the roundtable, attendees toured the Klosterman Feedlot Innovation Center. A press conference followed, where participants answered questions from members of the media.

Senator Fischer stated: “Today’s roundtable brought together leaders from across Nebraska agriculture to discuss how we can work together to open new markets for our farmers and ranchers. We’re grateful for Secretary Rollins’ leadership at USDA and her commitment to supporting ag producers.”

Secretary Rollins added: “Nebraska’s farmers and ranchers are essential to feeding America and the world. Our discussions today focused on practical solutions that will help these producers continue their vital work.”

The visit was attended by key figures involved in agriculture policy in Nebraska, aiming to highlight collaboration between federal lawmakers, state leaders, and local stakeholders.
