Rep. Mike Flood, U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 1st district since 2022, shared a series of posts on August 7, 2025, addressing issues ranging from weather forecasting to state values and legislative achievements.

In a post at 15:21 UTC, Flood praised the National Weather Service (NWS) and recent actions by the administration: "For decades @NWS has helped keep our communities safe with accurate and timely forecasts. This announcement from the administration sends a message that they’re focused on strengthening the NWS for years to come."

Later that day at 15:45 UTC, Flood commented on protest activity in Nebraska: "These attention-seeking activists don’t represent Nebraska values. Americans have the right to protest, but here in our state, people show their faces when they debate serious issues."

At 18:17 UTC, Flood highlighted recent legislative efforts and media appearances: "The One Big, Beautiful Bill extends and expands tax relief for hardworking families while also protecting Medicaid with commonsense reforms. Joined @jaketapper to talk about my town hall highlighting these wins for Nebraskans and more "

Flood has represented Nebraska’s 1st District in Congress since replacing Jeff Fortenberry in 2022. He previously served in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975 and currently residing in Norfolk, Flood holds degrees from the University of Notre Dame and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
