Rep. Mike Flood, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Nebraska’s 1st district, has been active on social media discussing key legislative and community issues. He succeeded Jeff Fortenberry in 2022 and previously served in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013.

On May 20, 2025, Rep. Flood expressed support for a tax relief initiative by former President Donald Trump. "WATCH: It's time to pass President @realDonaldTrump's One, Big, Beautiful Bill to deliver tax relief for hardworking families across Nebraska," he stated, emphasizing efforts by @CaucusMain to prevent a significant tax increase on working American families.

The following day, May 21, 2025, Flood addressed weather forecasting operations by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Omaha. "According to @NWSOmaha, two balloon launches a day are happening," he noted while pointing out that this practice has been ongoing for some time. He assured constituents that his team would monitor resources needed by NWS for accurate forecasts.

On May 22, 2025, Rep. Flood announced bipartisan efforts with colleagues such as @RepLiccardo and Senators Rounds and Fetterman among others to streamline housing project processes at HUD. "NEW: @RepLiccardo, @SenatorRounds, @SenFettermanPA, @SteveDaines and others have joined me to urge the removal of burdensome environmental barriers blocking @HUDgov housing projects," he wrote. This reflects an emerging consensus on reducing regulatory obstacles to address housing costs.

Born in Omaha in 1975 and residing in Norfolk now at age 48, Flood graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BA in 1997 and later earned a JD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2001.
