U.S. Congressman Mike Flood has commented on the recent announcement of a trade agreement between the United States and the United Kingdom, negotiated by President Donald J. Trump.
Flood expressed his views in a statement, contrasting the current administration's efforts with those of the previous one: “Over the last four years, President Biden did nothing on trade. Within a matter of months, President Trump’s dealmaking experience resulted in a trade deal with the United Kingdom, one of our country’s oldest allies.”
He highlighted the potential benefits for Nebraska, noting that British companies are significant contributors to job creation within the state across various sectors such as pharmaceuticals and hospitality. He also pointed out that this new agreement could further enhance employment opportunities and expand markets for agricultural products from Nebraska, particularly beef.
Flood concluded by expressing his anticipation for more details as they become available: “I look forward to learning more as details are hammered out in the coming weeks.”
