Rep. Mike Flood, serving Nebraska’s 1st district in the U.S. Congress, has been vocal on social media with recent comments geared towards promoting biofuels and sharing insights from political discussions. Flood, who took office in 2022 after Jeff Fortenberry, has been highlighting developments in biofuels and engaging in topics surrounding political media.

On April 28, 2025, Rep. Flood posted, "This is a great step towards E15 for all and I’ll continue to work with the administration towards year-round access so that we can continue to grow the marketplace for Nebraska biofuels here at home and around the world." This comment was made in support of initiatives aiming to increase access to E15, a fuel blend containing 15% ethanol.

In a concurrent post, Flood expressed support for policy measures authorizing E15 across the United States for the summer driving season, applauding former President Donald Trump and Lee Zeldin for their actions. Flood stated, "I applaud President @realDonaldTrump and @epaleezeldin for authorizing E15 across America for the summer driving season. E15 is clean, affordable, and American-made and we want everyone to have access to it."

On April 29, 2025, Flood shared a reflection on an interview featuring discussions between himself, Sen. Ron Wyden, and journalist Karen Tumulty. Citing a part of the conversation, he referenced a concern he had expressed: "'When I interviewed him, Flood, who founded a network of rural television stations in his home state, groused: 'I’ve not even gotten a response, and we sent that letter Jan. 22.'"

Flood has a legislative history in Nebraska and an educational background from the University of Notre Dame and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Born in Omaha, he resides in Norfolk, Nebraska.
