U.S. Congressman Mike Flood recently paid tribute to Jack Hoffman in a speech on the House Floor, celebrating his life and legacy. Hoffman's story became widely known as he battled brain cancer for over ten years, capturing the attention of both Nebraskans and Americans.
"Jack made national news when he ran for a 69-yard touchdown during the Husker Spring Game," Congressman Flood stated. "In that moment, Jack became a symbol of perseverance and hope for kids and families grappling with pediatric brain cancer."
Hoffman's family established the Team Jack Foundation to support research on pediatric brain cancer, inspired by his journey. Following his recent passing, Congressman Flood remarked, "His legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of Nebraskans."
The congressman also mentioned Hoffman's father, who succumbed to brain cancer as well. "He joins his father...a very good friend of mine and somebody I know who welcomed his son into Heaven with open arms," Flood said.
