Incumbent LeRoy Ott, seeking the Republican nomination to serve another term on the York County Board of Commissioners representing District 2, was endorsement by Red PAC, a group focused on protecting local property rights.

Ott is running in the Republican primary against Nick Wollenburg. Ott was originally appointed to his seat on the board following District 2 commissioner Woody Ziegler's death in December 2023.

In a press release, RED PAC Chief Strategist Charlie Kolean endorsed Ott, citing his record "of supporting private property rights and advocating for transparent governance align perfectly with the needs and values of York County residents." Kolean said Ott "understands that economic growth and fiscal responsibility are key to ensuring the prosperity and stability of York County."

According to a report from the York News-Times, at the York County Republican Party candidate forum earlier this year Ott reaffirmed his support for property rights and said that he is against raising property taxes if the inheritance tax is repealed. Ott also stated he believed that the key to attracting new businesses to the county is to expand the availability of housing.

During his interview for Ziegler's seat, Ott said, “I want to serve others. I want to serve my entire county. That’s just what I do. My belief is we must serve our fellow man.”

In January, shortly after Ott was chosen to replace Ziegler, the York News-Times revealed that Ott "has spent more than a decade on the Emmanuel Faith School board, he’s coached baseball, run the Optimist baseball program and he’s been on the York Parks and Recreation Board for more than 13 years. He’s a CASA volunteer and was on that board for the past three years." The York-Times also noted that Ott had spent 25 years in the insurance business and had lived in York County for 33 years.

According to their website, the York County Board of Commissioners comprises five members, each representing one district. Commissioners' responsibilities include overseeing all county funds and business, managing county roads, reviewing all accounts, receipts, and expenditures, creating the planning commission, levying and collecting taxes, providing county buildings, and being involved with and conducting county real estate transactions.

RED PAC is a political action committee focused protecting private property rights, increasing local government transparency, and fostering rural economic development.
