U.S. Congressman Mike Flood has announced that his office will be organizing Military Service Academy Days in Norfolk and Bellevue. These events aim to provide high school students with valuable information about the application process to become a commissioned officer in one of the country's five service academies: the U.S. Military Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy, Coast Guard Academy, and Merchant Marine Academy.

The Norfolk Military Service Academy Day is scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 6:00-7:30 PM CT at the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce located at 609 W Norfolk Ave., Norfolk, NE.

Similarly, the Bellevue Military Service Academy Day will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 8:30 AM-12:00 PM CT at Bellevue University's John B. Muller Admin Building, situated at 812 Bruin Blvd, Bellevue, NE.

It is important to note that applicants to the service academies, with the exception of the Coast Guard Academy, must be nominated by a Member of Congress. In this case, the academy days are being cohosted by U.S. Senators Fischer and Ricketts' offices, alongside Congressman Flood's office.

In light of this announcement, Congressman Flood's office encourages interested individuals to reach out to Kim Kwapnioski at 202-834-2780 for any inquiries. Additionally, if students are unable to attend the scheduled academy days, they are advised to make an appointment for an alternative arrangement.

These Military Service Academy Days provide a unique and valuable opportunity for high school students to gain in-depth knowledge about the application process and requirements for admission into the esteemed service academies. Attending these events can prove instrumental in helping students navigate the path towards becoming commissioned officers in the United States Armed Forces.

As Congressman Flood aptly stated, "These academy days are an excellent chance for aspiring young leaders to learn more about the prestigious service academies and the opportunities they offer. We are excited to provide this platform for students to explore their options and pursue their dreams of serving our country."

The upcoming Norfolk and Bellevue Military Service Academy Days will undoubtedly prove to be informative and enlightening experiences for high school students who aspire to serve their nation through a career in the military.
