Census Bureau: 5.5% of people in Lancaster County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 320,301 citizens living in Lancaster County in 2021, 94.5% said they were only one race, while 5.5% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Lancaster County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 84.1% or 269,516 individuals. Following them, Asian accounted for 4.2% and totaled 13,393 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Lancaster County is 0.4% higher than the state average, which stands at 5.1%.
