Congressman Flood Announces Flyover Fintech Panel on "The Promise and Potential of Blockchain"

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA – On July 13, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood announced Flyover Fintech will feature a panel on "The Promise and Potential of Blockchain.” The panel, featuring industry leaders from Ava Labs, Circle Internet Financial, Krypton Labs, and Paradigm, will happen at the Congressman’s Flyover Fintech Conference in Lincoln on August 2, 2023. 

“Blockchain technology is at the center of our country’s and the world’s digital future,” said Congressman Flood. “This panel will showcase the use cases of blockchain technology to Americans who may not yet be familiar with its potential. I encourage anyone who is interested in joining the conversation to reserve their spot and register for Flyover Fintech.” 

Lydia Chiu is Vice President of Business Development at Ava Labs, co-leading business development and the Blizzard Fund, an Avalanche ecosystem fund. Avalanche is a smart contracts platform that scales infinitely and regularly finalizes transactions in less than one second. Avalanche’s novel consensus protocol, Subnet infrastructure, and HyperSDK toolkit enable Web3 developers to easily launch powerful, custom blockchain solutions. Lydia previously served as VP of Business Development and Product at Investery Inc., and as Director of Digital Assets at SharesPost.

Jared Favole works on public policy and communications issues for Circle, a global fintech company and the sole issuer of the digital dollar USDC. He has almost two decades of experience distilling complex information to help media, policymakers, and the public make decisions. He was a reporter for The Wall Street Journal for a decade, including as a White House correspondent. He lives in the Boston area with his wife and twin daughters.

Nathan Moore co-founded Krypton in 2022 to build a decentralized exchange designed from the ground up to minimize transaction costs. Krypton seeks to eliminate the many sources of hidden trading costs faced by traders both large and small. Prior to co-founding Krypton, Nathan spent more than 25 years managing software and infrastructure teams in VC-backed companies, with experience with both web1 and web2 giants like Idealab and MySpace. He successfully nurtured several products from conceptualization to exit and brings immense experience in technology infrastructure and product development.

Justin Slaughter is the Policy Director at Paradigm. Prior to joining Paradigm, Justin was Director of the office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs and Senior Advisor to Acting Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Allison Herren Lee. Justin also served as Chief Policy Advisor and Special Counsel to former Commissioner Sharon Bowen at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and General Counsel to Senator Edward J. Markey.
