WASHINGTON, D.C. – On May 23, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement following the passage of S.J. Res. 11, a joint resolution introduced by Senator Deb Fischer of Nebraska, providing for congressional disapproval of President Joe Biden’s new vehicle emissions standards.
“The Biden Administration has repeatedly used the sweeping power of the federal government to achieve the policy goals of environmental activists. Thanks to the leadership of Senator Fischer, Congress has overturned President Biden’s onerous emissions rule, which seeks to shift consumers towards electric vehicles. Reducing or eliminating use of internal combustion engines would devastate the ethanol industry and rural communities across Nebraska and our country. It’s time for President Biden to stand with America’s farmers and rural communities and to respect the bipartisan coalition that rescinded his burdensome emissions rule.”
