On Thursday, March 2, 2023 at approximately 8:16 am, investigators from the Gage County Sheriff’s Office arrested 50-year-old Spencer Douglas Martin, a registered sex offender for failing to verify his information with the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry during February 2023.
After reviewing the February 2023 verification list, Spencer Martin was identified as having failed to come to the Gage County Sheriff’s Office to update his information as required by law. He was contacted by an investigator and came to the sheriff’s office where he was arrested and booked into jail.
Persons subject to the sex offender registry are provided notice and instructions for their reporting responsibilities after conviction.
The reporting or updating information process takes a couple of minutes, there is no cost to the person reporting the information, and for verifications they have the entire month to report and verify their information.
