The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released Tuesday their 2022 Football Academic All-America® Teams for all levels – NCAA DI, NCAA DII, NCAA DIII, and NAIA.

Peru State senior football player Andrew Rathman (Plattsmouth) was named to the NAIA First Team as the special teams selection.

Morningside University running back Ryan Cole was selected as the Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year for the NAIA.

Two members of the 26-man NAIA team boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate or graduate work. The NAIA honorees combined for a 3.87 GPA.

Rathman, a management, criminal justice, and computer management information systems major presently has a 3.89 grade point average. He is the only football player from the Heart of America Athletic Conference to earn the top honors and is just one of three Nebraska NAIA players recognized.

With his honor, Rathman becomes the 11th Bobcat football player to earn the honor since 2012.
