Peru State College National Alumni Association issued the following announcement on Mar. 9.
Our ninth installment of the Peru State College Foundation scholarships features the Dr. Earl C. and Mae Miller Beck Scholarship.
The Earl C. and Mae Miller Beck Scholarship was established by Dr. Beck who was a 1912 Peru State College graduate. The scholarship was established by Dr. Beck in the mid-1960’s and was first awarded in 1966. The scholarship is to go to an English major preferably with athletic ability. Dr. Beck, who was from Panama, Nebr., and was a Hickman High School graduate, was very active on campus and wanted to be able to give back to the institution. Members of his family have contributed to the scholarship over the years.
