Rep. Mike Flood, U.S. Congressman representing Nebraska’s 1st district since 2022, recently shared updates from his visits with local leaders and businesses in Nebraska, as well as a response to storm damage in Seward.

On August 8, Flood posted about his meeting with community leaders in Firth: “Recently met with Firth’s leadership at their Community Center. It was great to hear their priorities and experiences firsthand – local perspective is invaluable in shaping effective policy in Washington!”

Later that day, he highlighted his visit to a key agricultural business: “Visited @PLDairy to tour their facilities while in Firth recently. Businesses like Prairieland Dairy the backbone of Nebraska’s ag economy which helps feed the world!”

On August 9, Flood addressed severe weather impacts in Seward: “Spoke with Mayor Josh Eickmeier this morning. Seward was hit very hard by the overnight storm. The city is assessing the damage and has established a command center at the volunteer fire department. Follow along here for updates “

Flood has represented Nebraska’s 1st District since succeeding Jeff Fortenberry in 2022. He previously served in the Nebraska State Legislature from 2007 to 2013. Born in Omaha in 1975 and currently residing in Norfolk, Flood earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and a law degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
